How Much Does a Dublin Whiskey Tour Cost?

A standard distillery tour with a guided tasting costs from $24 to $34 per person in Dublin. Tutored tastings and hands-on classes start at about $41, guided whiskey walks at $88 and private whiskey tours at $164.

Updated October 2026

Most visitors to Dublin pay between $24 and $34 per person for a whiskey tour: a guided walk round a distillery or the Irish Whiskey Museum, about an hour long, with a tasting at the end. The price climbs once you add a hands-on class, a guide who walks you between bars or venues, or a private host. Every price on this page is per person.

The main differences

  • A good all-round choice: the Jameson Bow St. tour and tasting from $34, rated 4.7/5 from more than 7,800 reviews, with a guided tour of the original Smithfield distillery, a comparative tasting and a Jameson cocktail.
  • The cheapest distillery tours cost $10 less than Jameson. Teeling and Pearse Lyons both start from $24, and both make whiskey on site, which Jameson no longer does in Dublin.
  • Booking on GetYourGuide costs about the same as booking with the venue, except at Jameson. Teeling, Pearse Lyons, Roe & Co and the Irish Whiskey Museum are within a dollar of their own ticket prices. Jameson's own site starts from €26 (about $29), $5 less than the $34 GetYourGuide price.
  • Jameson's classes are sold separately from its tour. The cocktail-making class from $67 leaves out the guided Bow St. tour, so doing both costs $101 per person at the starting prices.
  • A guided trail costs about twice as much as booking the same venues yourself. The Premium Whiskey Trail to Teeling, Roe & Co and the Irish Whiskey Museum is from $162; the three venues' own GetYourGuide tickets add up to $83.
  • Everything is priced per person. At the starting price, two people pay $68 for the Jameson tour and four pay $136. Teeling costs two people $48 and four $96.

Prices change with the date and the ticket option, so check the booking page for yours.

Jameson Bow St. or a cheaper distillery?

If you only have time for one whiskey tour, start by weighing Jameson against the cheaper distillery tours below. The calendar shows live prices for the Jameson tour on your dates.

Powerd by GetYourGuide

For $10 more than Teeling or Pearse Lyons, the Jameson tour has the longest review record of any whiskey tour in Dublin on GetYourGuide, and it adds a cocktail to the tasting. The guides tell the story of the 1780 distillery well, but the whiskey has been made in Co. Cork since 1971, so you walk through restored rooms and see no working stills. Our review of whether the Jameson tour is worth it covers how the 45 minutes run.

If you want to see whiskey being made

The Teeling Whiskey Distillery Tour & Tasting starts from $24 and is rated 4.6/5 from more than 1,300 reviews. Its listing includes a fully guided tour of the working distillery in the Liberties, the exhibition on Dublin’s whiskey history and a tasting of the Teeling range. It suits a first visit as well as Jameson does, for $10 less, and you see the copper stills in use. Our Teeling guide compares its tasting options.

A cocktail with your distillery visit

The Roe & Co Distillery Cocktail Workshop is from $31, and at 4.9/5 from more than 700 reviews it has the highest rating of the standard distillery tours. You get a guided tour, a choice of the blending or Flavours workshop, and a Roe & Co cocktail at the end. Roe & Co paused distilling in June 2025, so this visit is about cocktails and blending. It sits across the road from the Guinness Storehouse, which makes it the easiest whiskey stop to pair with a pint.

Several brands in one tasting

The Irish Whiskey Museum Guided Tour & Tasting is from $28, rated 4.6/5 from more than 1,500 reviews. The museum belongs to no distillery, so its guides pour a tutored tasting across several brands after a tour of its four history rooms. This is the better fit if you want to compare styles before choosing a bottle; there are no stills to see.

An evening between whiskey bars

The Whiskey Trail is a three-hour guided walk from $106, rated 5.0/5 from 37 reviews. Its listing includes six whiskey samples across three whiskey bars, with a food pairing at each stop. On your own you pay the full $106, and any drinks beyond the samples are extra.

What does a standard distillery tour cost?

From $24 to $34 per person on GetYourGuide, for 45 minutes to an hour with a tasting at the end. Within that range you are choosing what you want to see, and the price tells you little about it: Teeling and Pearse Lyons make whiskey on site, Jameson Bow St. is a heritage site, the museum pours several brands, and Roe & Co leads with cocktails.

Prices checked 16 October 2026. Operators use dynamic pricing, so these figures are a guide; check the booking page for the current price. Euro prices are each venue’s own adult ticket, converted at €1 = $1.1253 (the European Central Bank rate on 16 October 2026) and rounded to the nearest dollar. Every tour named on this page links to its GetYourGuide listing, with its rating and number of reviews beside it; a low review count means there is little to go on yet.

Pearse Lyons sells three tickets at the door, from €22 for three whiskeys to €32 for five, and its GetYourGuide listing offers the same choice; the $24 starting price is the cheapest option. Our Pearse Lyons guide explains what each one pours.

Is it cheaper to book with the distillery?

Usually by a dollar or less, and at the Irish Whiskey Museum not at all. Teeling’s basic tasting tour is €22 (about $25) on its own site against $24 on GetYourGuide, and Roe & Co’s Flavours workshop is €28 (about $32) against $31.

Jameson is the exception. Its own site lists the Jameson Experience with Tasting from €26 (about $29), while GetYourGuide starts from $34, so booking direct can save about $5 per person. Jameson’s price is a from-price too, and it moves with the date. Every GetYourGuide listing on this page offers free cancellation, which is the main reason to pay the difference if your plans might change.

What do tastings and classes cost?

Most cost from $41 to $67 per person, about twice a standard tour, and one luxury pairing is $157.

Around $41 to $44: a longer tasting or a blend to take home. The Irish Whiskey Museum’s whiskey blending experience is from $41 (4.7/5, more than 400 reviews): you taste four whiskeys and bottle a 70ml blend of your own. Jameson’s Secret Whiskey Tasting is from $44 (4.7/5, more than 100 reviews) and pours four premium whiskeys in John Jameson’s old office, without the guided tour.

Around $61 to $67: a hands-on class. Jameson’s cocktail-making class is from $67 (4.9/5, more than 170 reviews): three cocktails in an hour and a cocktail book to take home. Its Black Barrel blending class costs the same, lasts 90 minutes and sends you home with a 50ml bottle of your own blend (4.8/5, more than 120 reviews). The Irish Whiskey Museum’s cocktail masterclass is cheaper at $61, but it has only 7 reviews at 4.2/5, the weakest record in this group. The Black Barrel Irish coffee workshop at Bow St. is $67 and has 3 reviews so far.

Above $150: a premium pairing. Jameson’s whiskey and chocolate pairing class is from $157. It pours four pot still whiskeys with artisan chocolates in the live maturation warehouse, and you draw whiskey from a barrel yourself. With 3 reviews it has very little track record.

Jameson sells its classes and tastings separately from the tour. The cocktail class and the chocolate pairing both list the guided tour as not included, and the Secret Tasting listing says you can’t do two Bow St. experiences on the same day. If you want the tour and a class, book them for different days: $34 and $67 come to $101 per person. Jameson’s own prices for the classes are €60 (about $68), so booking direct saves nothing here.

What do whiskey trails and combination tours cost?

From $88 to $200 per person. Compared with booking the venues yourself, most of the extra pays for a guide, the walk or ride between stops, and a drink or two along the way.

Guided walks between bars and distilleries. The guided pub tour with the Jameson distillery and live music is from $88 for two and a half hours, with a Jameson tasting, a pint of Guinness and a trad music finish; it has 9 reviews so far at 4.8/5. The Whiskey Trail from $106 is the better-reviewed evening, as above. The Premium Whiskey Trail from $162 takes you to Teeling, Roe & Co and the Irish Whiskey Museum by vintage bus and adds an Irish coffee. Booked separately on GetYourGuide, those three venues cost $83 ($24 + $31 + $28), so the trail costs $79 more for the guide, the bus and the coffee. It has 3 reviews so far.

Guinness and whiskey on one ticket. The Guinness Storehouse and Roe & Co tour is from $122 (4.8/5 from 62 reviews), with a guided walk, a pint in the Gravity Bar, Roe & Co samples and a blending demonstration. Booked separately, a Guinness Storehouse ticket (from $41) and the Roe & Co workshop come to $72, so the combination costs $50 more. The Guinness and Jameson skip-the-line tour is from $154 (4.7/5, more than 1,200 reviews) and includes skip-the-line tickets and a local guide, but no food or transport. The two tickets on their own come to $75. Our Guinness Storehouse and Jameson guide shows how to do both in a day on foot.

Sightseeing with a distillery stop. The Jameson tour with a hop-on hop-off bus is from $63 (4.6/5 from 42 reviews): the 45-minute Bow St. tour plus 24 hours on the open-top bus, $29 more than the tour alone. The Guinness, whiskey and gin trilogy is from $200, with entry to the Guinness Storehouse, a whiskey distillery and a gin distillery; it has 2 reviews.

What does a private whiskey tour cost?

From $164 per person. The private Temple Bar tour with the Jameson distillery and the private city tour with the Irish Whiskey Museum both start at $164 with a guide in your language, but their two-hour options leave out the distillery ticket, which comes only with the three- and four-hour options. Both have 3 or fewer reviews so far (4.6/5 and 5.0/5).

The private Guinness and Irish whiskey tour with transfers is from $324: four hours in a private Mercedes with a host, the Guinness Storehouse with a pint, and a private visit to Pearse Lyons with two of its whiskeys and a gin to taste. It is rated 5.0/5, but from 18 reviews. These tours price per person too, so check the total for your group on the booking page.

What stays the same whatever you pay

Paying more does not get you rarer whiskey on a standard tour. It pays for more time, a hands-on class, a guide between venues or a guide to yourself. Every tour on this page offers free cancellation on its GetYourGuide listing. Whiskey day trips outside Dublin, such as the Giant’s Causeway coach tour with a tasting, are covered in our Northern Ireland distillery tours guide; food tours with only an Irish coffee demo, and newer listings without reviews of their own, are not compared here.

Should you pay more?

Pay more if you want a class with your hands on the bottles, an evening walking between whiskey bars, or a guide to yourself. If you mainly want to see a distillery and taste its whiskey, the $24 to $34 tours give you that, and the money you save goes a long way in the distillery shop; our Jameson whiskey prices guide covers what each bottle costs in Ireland. For a side-by-side of the venues themselves, see our Dublin distillery tours comparison.
